Moritz Gimnich has been a research associate at the Chair of Information Systems, particularly Information Systems and Services (ISS), at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg since September 2023.
Mr. Gimnich earned his Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Economics with a focus on Finance & Accounting at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. He completed his master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Business Administration with specializations in Banking & Financial Control and Innovation Management at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg. During his master’s program, he also studied at the Grenoble École de Management in France and the Prague University of Economics and Business in the Czech Republic. Alongside his studies, he gained professional experience working for medium-sized enterprises and KPMG in the field of Accounting & Process Advisory.
In his research, Mr. Gimnich focuses on the use of digital technologies in private and organizational contexts, with an emphasis on change management in the context of digital transformation. Additionally, he examines the causes and consequences of filtering algorithms on organizations, individuals, and society. He is also active in the IS community as a reviewer for various conferences (e.g., ICIS, ECIS, WI) and journals (e.g., Internet Research).
In the context of university teaching, Mr. Gimnich supervises the Master’s modules 'Standards und Netzwerke' and 'Optimierung IT-lastiger Geschäftsprozesse'. Furthermore, he supervises seminar papers and theses of students.
